Homeward Pet currently has a litter of four Chihuahua mix puppies that are just under twelve weeks of age. This particular puppy is Almond, a black and white male. Almond currently weighs just over five pounds, and will grow into a small sized dog. Since Almond is still a puppy he will require a home that can provide him with on-going socialization, housetraining, and training. Puppies take up a large amount of time so adopters should be able to devote lots of time and attention daily to these little pups. These puppies were transferred over from a Yakima area rescue when they became overwhelmed with puppies. Almond's pregnant mom was rescued from a hoarding situation several months ago, and the rescue quickly discovered she was pregnant. These pups have been in foster care until they were big enough to find their forever homes. Puppies a lot of time and dedication and adopters are encouraged to research raising puppies. Free training classes are included in all dog and puppy adoptions, which is a great way to start a new relationship with your pup! Almond gets along well with other dogs and with training and supervision should be fine with cats. Almond is looking for a home with children over the age of six as he is still a young puppy and will require delicate handling and care.
